Danças do ventre (belly dance), e coelho (rabbit)!

So...I wrote this post on saturday, but my comp wouldn't let me put it online. I'll try again now, that I have internet again. Hope it works! I'll write more later.

Olá! Tudo bem?
Another week gone by....time goes so fast...won't it slow down a bit sometime?
My life here is getting busy, and therefore more stressful. But I'm also a lot less homesick, and I'm adapting to life here. And learning portuguese! I realized I can understand portuguese much easier than french now. maybe speak it, too, if you leave out the fact that my vocab and grammar aren't the best. but seriously. this is the best way to learn a language.
Hm...so debora wasn't in school on wednesday, but anne-lise delivered her cookies, which she liked very much.
i went to try modern dance at the dancing school, but it doesn't start until november. so went back on thursday to try oriental dance. Turned out to be belly dance! Different, but interesting. I'm considering signing up, though modern dance sounds good, too. Flamenco schedule is a bit inconvenient for me.
Yesterday...geography test. hardest out of the ones I've had so far, even though the teacher let us use the book. I had english on wednesday, which was fun. The sad thing was, sometimes I wasn't sure of some verb tenses! Don't remember exactly, but there were a couple questions where I asked myself--is it this, or this? hehe I think I'll still do ok, though.
I had gym class yesterday--basketball. It's kinda hard to get used to the fact that hardly anyone here does sports. none of the boys could do layups well, which was just strange to see, after being in an american school where everyone does sports. I think I had the best layup (hah--is that the right word?) out of all the girls in my class! and I'm a gymnast! weird.
got home yesterday and practiced clarinet! yay! then walked on the treadmill, good for me. tried to think of a french word for each letter of the alphabet, but couldn't get one for i. sad.
Then friday night I was standing in the kitchen getting a piece of toast or something and miguelinho came in carrying a frozen dead rabbit that they were going to eat. chased me around with it. I ended up screaming (a very rare occurance for me) and running upstairs, where I had a little breakdown in my room. Homesick--I guess the little scare I got just made some emotions release. But then it was all better when I went to debora's b-day dinner. 5 girls representing the US, hungary, norway, denmark, and germany, debora's AFS counselor, and her host family. A lot of fun.
Today I woke up late and haven't been doing much. Wrote e-mails, had a nice lunch outside. If I can convince myself to, i will study filosofia and math after I finish writing this. I put a lot of pressure on myself to be productive, which can give me some stress. But today I will be productive, and the stress will go away!
I also keep telling myself that I need to do more social things. Invite people to do things. Problem is I'm not much of an expert at taking the initiative to be social, because i'm not extremely social in the US. spend a lot of time at home, which I enjoy. But maybe once i get more activities (dance, band, girl scouts maybe--what do you think of sailing girl scouts? I think it sounds fun. Also regular girl scouts...idk) I'll be more social without having to work so hard to take the initiative.
it's crazy, my journal has 3 blank pages in it. Me who could never convince myself to write in a journal before now writes so much. but it's so great!
Today it's about 80º i think and gorgeous. I miss new england autumn, but I also love this weather.
Anyway, love to all! I miss you!
